A two day meeting was held by the budget unit at the Assembly Hall from Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th October, 2022 to discuss the final draft of the 2023-2026 Composite Budget.
Some staff of the Suaman District Assembly on 20th and 21st October, 2022 were taken through a two- day workshop to be trained on the DLrev system. The DLrev is a web-based application with a digital address map (local plan) of a district produced using a geographic information system. The local plan has a spatial database and with a corresponding fiscal cadastre of revenue items, the software is used to manage data, billing, and collection. The software is currently set-up for property rates and business operating permits, but also provides for other revenue items namely rents (district infrastructure given for public use such as market sheds, stalls and stores), fees (for use of market grounds and lorry parks), fines (for flouting by-laws of the local authority) and investment (investment in securities). The application was funded by GIZ, who also partake in some of the implementation activities with government.
The District Chief Executive (Hon. Philip Kwabena Boahen) on Friday, October 14, 2022 accounted for his achievements and developmental projects in his 1st year of office. This meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the District Assembly. Present under this meeting were Chiefs, Religious leaders, Security Services, Union leaders and SUADA staff.
The meeting started at exactly 11:00am with a word prayer and introduction of dignitaries present. Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Fiebor (DCD) gave a brief opening address to enlighten members on the purpose of the meeting.

Hon. Philip Kwabena Boahen in his presentation, projected the various contributions and achievements he has brought to the district in his first year of office. He talked about the pass and current state of the Assembly’s Common Fund Projects, District Development Facility (DDF) projects, recurrent expenditure and Internally Generated fund (IGF) as at July 2022.

Presenting on his achievements for the first one year, he categorized them under Business Advisory Centre (BAC) REP Programme, Department of social welfare & community development, Leap Programme Monitored, Implementation of Government Flagship Programmes and Planting for Food and Jobs.

The Western North Regional Coordinating Director (Mr. Ebenezer Amoah) embarked on a familiarization tour to the Suaman District Assembly on Tuesday, 20th September, 2022.
The purpose of this tour was to meet and familiarize with all staff of SUADA.
He was accompanied by the Regional HRM, Mr. Seth Sarkodie, Regional PRO, Mr. Robert Attoh and Assistant Director 1, Mr. Percy Anyanga.
The visit allowed him to engage with Staff on Local Government Service Policies and proposed conditions of service.
He commended staff for their hard work and urged them to continue working diligently towards the development of the District and addressed all questions raised by some staff during an open forum.
The Human Resource department of Suaman District Assembly (SUADA) on the 6th September, 2022, organized a one-day training session for its staff. The training was organized to equip staff on Minutes and Reports writing.
Environmental Health and sanitation monitoring and technical back-stocking visit
Mr. Paul Kwesi Nutsugah Jnr. (Regional Environmental Health Officer), together with his team paid a working visit to Suaman District Assembly to meet the environmental health staff on 11th August, 2022. The purpose of the visit was to observe environmental health and sanitation in the district.
As part of MAG activities of the Department of Food and Agriculture to improve productivity and the general livelihood of farmers in the District, the Department organized a session for farmers and other stakeholders along the Agricultural value chain at the District Assembly conference hall.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss farmer problems in the major crop production and how to solve them through policy intervention, extension and research.

On the 27th July, 2022, the Suaman District Assembly held a General Assembly Meeting to elect a Presiding Member and also discuss developmental plans in the District.
In attendance to the meeting were The District Chief Executive (Hon. Philip Kwabena Boahen), the District Coordinating Director Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Fiebor, Assembly Members, Team from the Electoral Commission, HODs and other staff.
In a brief opening remarks, the DCD welcomed all the members to the meeting and followed by self-introduction by all members in the house.

The team from the Electoral Commission assisted the District Assembly to conduct an election to elect a New Presiding Member. Only one person, Hon. Stephenson Tandoh picked the nomination form for the position. Since he was the only candidate, the election was a “YES or NO” vote. He succeeded with a 100 percent vote and was sworn in by Hon. District Chief Executive, Philip Kwabena Boahen.
The Newly elected Presiding Member, Hon. Stephenson Tandoh gave an acceptance speech and proceeded to chair the meeting to read, correct, and approve minutes of previous meeting.
