On Tuesday 16th May, 2023 to 17th May 2023, there was a two-day training session at the District Assembly on the use of the DLrev system. The facilitators Akwasi Amoako from the RCC and Mr. Bentum from the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly. The training was conducted for the following departments and unit; Central Administration, Budget, Internal Audit, Finance, Planning, Revenue collectors Physical planning and MIS.
On Friday 5th May 2023, the Suaman District Assembly held a staff durbar to discuss issues and way forward to ensure better condition of service at the District Assembly. Present at the durbar was Hon. DCE (Philip Kwabena Boahen), DCD (Emmanuel Kwame Fiebor) and staff of the Suaman District Assembly.
The District Budget Unit held their 1st Quarter meeting on the Thursday, 20th day of April 2023 at the conference Hall of the District Assembly. The purpose of the meeting is as follows;

A team from the Ministry Led by the Deputy Minister, Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim, on Tuesday, 18th April, 2023 paid a monitoring visit to the Suaman District Assembly (SUADA) to monitor the level of implementation of the Assembly’s Local Economic Development (LED), Ghana Productive Safety Net (GPNSP), PERD, DCACT activities and all other Government Flagship projects, and also to pick up issues that are affecting the smooth implementation of the programme.
All heads of the Decentralized Department, Agriculture, Health and Education gave a power point presentation on their activities to the Deputy Minister during his visit.

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) partnered the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF), The German Development Cooperation (GIZ), The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), AND THE Ministry of Local Government Decentralization and Rural Development (MLGDRD) AND THE Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) to support selected MMDAs to compile administrative data.
The data is expected to provide inputs into the 2023 Annual Progress Reports of the MMDAs as well as their 2024 Annual work programmes.
The GSS and the NDPC as part of this effort, reviewed the selected MMDAs Medium Term Development plans (2022-2025) and 2021 Annual Progress report (APRs) that informed the development of administrative data template to guide the District Statistical Officers and other Officers in the data compilation. To the effect, a team from RCC conducted a 2-day training programme for some selected officers in the District.
As part of its goal to institutionalize administrative data collection and use at the MMDA level, the GSS will donate one Laptop Computer each to the District Statistical Department for the selected MMDAs.
The District Planning Co-ordinating Unit (DPCU) held a meeting on the Wednesday, 5th of April 2023 at the conference Hall of the District Assembly. The purpose of the meeting is as follows;

Discussion on strategies to improve revenue mobilization
On every 6th March, Ghana celebrates its independence day nationwide. The 66th maiden edition of the celebration took place in the Volta Region. Various MMDAs also graced the celebration at their various levels. The Suaman District celebration the the season at the Karlo (Suburb of Dadieso). Dignitaries who were present to grace the occasion include the Hon. DCE, the DCD, Security Forces, Nananom, and Staff of the District Assembly.
The Suaman District Assembly on the Wednesday 22nd of February 2023, held its 1st Staff Durbar for the year. This durbar was held to address oppressing issues in the institution. Present in this meeting was the DCE (Hon. Philip Kwabena Boahen), DCD (Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Fiebor) and the Suaman District Assembly Staff. All issues and concerns raised by staff were addressed by the DCE and the DCD to ensure good and smooth working conditions in the institution.
As part of the government’s effort to incorporate Persons with Disability (PWDs) into the mainstream of society and to help them contribute their quota to the development of the nation, 3% of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) is allocated to support PWDs activities.
The fund as captured in the Guidelines for the Disbursement and Management of the District Assembly’s Common Fund for Persons with Disability (DACF for PWDs), is to be used to achieve the following objectives for PWDs.
To support the income-generating activities of individual persons with disabilities as a means of economic empowerment
To provide educational support for children, students and trainees with disabilities.
To build the capacity of the Organisation of Persons with Disabilities (OPWDs) in the districts to enable them to advocate and assert their rights and undertake awareness raising and sensitization on disability issues.
To support persons with disabilities to have access to technical aids and other assistive devices and equipment.
The support which was presented to twenty-eight (28) Persons with Disability within the Suaman District was worth One Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Nine-four Ghana Cedis (GH₵113,994.00)
Selected beneficiaries were advised to make use of their request as expected of them because they have at least been better supported through the needs assessment conducted. Those who could not benefit from the disbursement should expect theirs patiently as is an ongoing process.
