The ‘Nkoko Nketsenketse’ program is a government flagship initiative aimed at promoting poultry production, enhancing food security, creating employment opportunities, and improving the livelihoods of beneficiaries across the country. This report provides a comprehensive account of the implementation of the program within the Suaman District, covering the receipt of birds and feed, distribution processes, mortality records etc.
The official launch of the Nkoko Nketsenketse Program in the district was held on 30th March, 2026 at the Suaman District Assembly Conference Hall.
The event was attended by:
District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director, Nananom, Former MP Hon. Joseph Betino, District Assembly officials, Hon. Assembly Members, Agricultural officers, Beneficiaries’ and Community stakeholders.
The launch marked the commencement of the official distribution of birds to registered beneficiaries. Following the launch, 1,420 birds were distributed to beneficiaries out of 2,849. 1,474 birds remained at the farm. He later recorded 219 mortalities reducing the number birds at farm to 1,255 and raising his total number of mortalities to 325. The remaining live birds were later distributed to farmers. Each beneficiary was provided with 25kg bag of poultry feed to sustain the birds in the interim period.
