The District Spatial Planning Committee meeting was held on Tuesday, 31st March, 2026 at the District Assembly Conference Hall at exactly 10:00 AM. The meeting brought together committee members and relevant stakeholders to deliberate on matters relating to spatial planning, development control, and enforcement within the district.

Following deliberations, the committee considered the recommendations of the Technical Sub-Committees and decisions were taken accordingly. Some recommendations were approved, others were deferred for further assessment, while a few were refused due to non-compliance with planning requirements and regulations.
Under matters relating to sensitization, development control, and enforcement, members discussed strategies to improve public awareness on planning regulations and the need for compliance with approved development procedures. The committee also addressed challenges associated with unauthorized developments and emphasized the importance of strengthening monitoring and enforcement activities across the district.
The committee further reviewed aspects of the district planning scheme. Discussions focused on ensuring that the planning scheme adequately responds to current development trends and supports orderly growth within the district.
Under Any Other Matter, members raised additional concerns and suggestions relating to land use management, stakeholder collaboration, and improved coordination among relevant institutions.
