Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) Training For Administrative Data Compilation

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) partnered the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF), The German Development Cooperation (GIZ), The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), AND THE Ministry of Local Government Decentralization and Rural Development (MLGDRD) AND THE Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) to support selected MMDAs to compile administrative data.

The data is expected to provide inputs into the 2023 Annual Progress Reports of the MMDAs as well as their 2024 Annual work programmes.

The GSS and the NDPC as part of this effort, reviewed the selected MMDAs Medium Term Development plans (2022-2025) and 2021 Annual Progress report (APRs) that informed the development of administrative data template to guide the District Statistical Officers and other Officers in the data compilation. To the effect, a team from RCC conducted a 2-day training programme for some selected officers in the District.

As part of its goal to institutionalize administrative data collection and use at the MMDA level, the GSS will donate one Laptop Computer each to the District Statistical Department for the selected MMDAs.
